Ceramic Tile

Rock Solid Remodeling strives for excellence in all areas of work, especially tile work. Let us give you three reasons why we are "redefining the concept of quality!"

Porcelain Tiles and Grout Boost

I thought it was ceramic tiles..?

Porcelain vs. Ceramic
All tiles are ceramic tiles. Porcelain is a type of ceramic tile. At Rock Solid Remodeling we use porcelain tile because we believe it to be the better product. People understand 'ceramic' tile, but aren't as familiar with porcelain. So in saying 'ceramic tile' we mean porcelain. Porcelain tends to be a little costlier, but is well worth the price difference.

Why Porcelain?
Porcelain is made with more refined materials than regular ceramic. Because of this it is denser, more rugged, and moisture resistant, making it more durable and suitable for floors, kitchen counter tops, or outdoor areas where freezing can occur. Porcelain can be used for exterior applications, whereas ceramic will not hold up. Since it is denser, it is tougher and can stand the test of time. Because it is less absorbent you don't need to worry about stains.

What is Grout Boost?
At Rock Solid Remodeling we like to give our customers the best long term results with the highest quality. That's why we use a new product called Grout Boost Advanced Pro stain resistant grout additive. Grout Boost has the exceptional quality of epoxy grout without the steep price so you can get the best without breaking the bank. This new product is the leader in excellent tile jobs. Nothing can touch it- not mildew, stains, food and liquid spills, etc. It is water proof, will retain its color over time, and even repels dirt! When considering the time spent cleaning and cost of harsh tile and grout cleaning solutions over the years, Grout Boost is worth more than a second thought! You can count on Rock Solid Remodeling to stay ahead of the curve in bringing our customers the newest and the best.

Mortar and More
When tiling, we like to use a polymer modified mortar with a latex additive. This allows for the structure of the room to fluctuate over time without affecting the tiling. Polymer modified mortars are preferable because of their high strength, excellent adhesion, and chemical resistance. They are also waterproof, freezing/thawing resistant, and heat resistant. Polymer modified mortars have passed the test on durability and weather-ability with flying scores. This is the quality you are looking for in high traffic areas with plenty of moisture and all exterior tiling.
